Funeral services for Amy Green will be held 10:30 A.M. Thursday, November 12, 2015 at the Grand Meadow Lutheran Church in Grand Meadow, MN with Pastor Beth Krolak officiating. Burial will take place in the Bear Creek Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be held 5:00-7:00 P.M. Wednesday, November 11, 2015 at the Hindt Funeral Home in Grand Meadow and one hour prior to the service at the church.

Amy Green, age 91, of Grand Meadow, MN passed away Tuesday, November 10, 2015 at the Grand Meadow Healthcare Center in Grand Meadow.

Amy Ruth Jensen was born December 31, 1923 in Rochester, MN to Chris and Mary (Nelson) Jensen. She attended school in Rochester and graduated in 1944. Amy worked as a nurse’s aide at the Worrall Hospital in Rochester for 2 years after high school. On June 1, 1947, Amy was united in marriage to Maynard Green at the Bethel Lutheran Church in Rochester, MN. They were married for 62 years. Together they lived on a farm northeast of Grand Meadow, where they farmed with Maynard’s father. After 5 years, they moved into town, and Maynard worked at IBM for 30 years.

Amy belonged to the Grand Meadow Lutheran Church, where she was involved with the Circles and aid and taught Sunday school and Bible School. She was interested in embroidery work and also enjoyed reading magazines, especially Country Women. Amy, along with her husband, were also interested in rocks and jewelry. They went to many rock shows in different states to show and sell their rocks and jewelry. Amy belonged to the Austin Gem and Mineral Club in Austin, MN, where she was secretary for many years. She worked at the nursing home as a volunteer as a Grey Lady.

Amy is survived by her daughters, Judy Green of Grand Meadow, MN and Joanne Olson of Sun City, AZ; sister, Lenora “Lee” Jensen of Ellsworth, WI; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Chris and Mary, husband Maynard in 2010, son-in-law, David Olson, 3 sisters, Connie, Elnor, and Alice, and 3 brothers, Richard, Nels, and James.
