Corall S. Fortney

Corall S. Fortney, age 84, of Le Roy, MN died Saturday January 23, 2016 at Wildwood Grove in Le Roy, MN.

Corall was born April 12, 1931 in Howard County – Chester, IA to Cecil Vaughn Fortney and Christina                    Sturnberg Fortney. He attended Howard County Schools and was united in marriage to Janice Taylor on March 30, 1959 at the Le Roy Lutheran Church.  Coral entered the United States Army serving in the Signal Corp. He was discharged on October 30, 1961.  Corall farmed in the Le Roy, MN and Chester, IA area for many years. He also worked at Donaldson Corporation in Cresco for 30 + years retiring in 1996.

Corall enjoyed carpentry and woodworking, he had a passion for helping family with remodeling projects. He also enjoyed reading, gardening and cooking.

He is survived by his wife Janice of Le Roy, MN, children, Dale (Carol) Throckmortan of Preston, MN, Renae (Randy) Anderson of Le Roy, MN, Kevin (Kristi) Fortney of Grandbury, TX, Nola (Troy) Swancutt of Chatfield, MN and Dawn (Mick) Brown of Riceville, IA, 27 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents, one son Stanley and 3 brothers: Dale, Glen and Dean.

A private Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday January 27, 2016 at the Hindt Funeral Home in Le Roy. Burial with military rites will take place in the Spring at the Le Roy Cemetery.
