Corliss "Cork" F. Jacobson

Corliss F. “Cork” Jacobson, age 80, of Le Roy, MN died Saturday January 23, 2016 at Mayo Clinic Health System in Austin, MN.

Corliss “Cork” Jacobson was born November 5, 1935 in Fillmore County near Greenleafton, MN to Everett and Leona (Lenz) Jacobson. He grew up in the Preston, MN area attending country schools and later attending High School in Preston. He was united in marriage to Hazel Degn on January 11, 1956 in Rochester, MN. In 1957 they moved to Le Roy, MN where he went to work for the Le Roy Co-Op Creamery serving as manager for many years. He later worked for the Le Roy Co-Op Elevator after they merged retiring in 1992.  After his retirement he drove truck delivering chemicals.

Cork was a member of the Le Roy Fire Department from 1965 until 1990, he also served on the Le Roy Ambulance for many years and was a member of the Land O’Lakes Board of Directors from 1984 until 1993. He was also a member of the Le Roy Lutheran Church.

Cork is survived by his wife Hazel of Le Roy, children; Craig (Theresa) Jacobson, Sandra Jacobson, Larry (Sharon) Jacobson and Susan Jacobson all of Le Roy, MN, David Jacobson of Iowa and Steven Jacobson of Amboy, MN, 8 grandchildren; Laura, Matthew, Joshua, Corey, Brian, Caitlin, Zach and Morgan, 10 great grandchildren and 2 brothers; Robert Jacobson of Rochester and Jerry (Virgene) Jacobson of Brodhead, WI. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister-in-law Imogene.

Cork’s wishes were to not have services. Burial will be at a later time.
