Funeral services for Donald Sween will be held 1:00 P.M. Wednesday December 20, 2017 at Bear Creek Lutheran Church Frankford Twp., MN. Burial will take place in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held 1 hr prior to the service at the church on Wednesday.
Donald Sween, age 79, of Racine, MN died Sunday December 17, 2017 at the Adams Health Care Center in Adams, MN where he had resided a short time.
Donald was born May 19, 1938 in rural Racine, MN to Theodore and Elise (Severson) Sween. He attended country school through the 8th grade and high school for a time in Grand Meadow before starting to work for local farmers. On March 5, 1960 he was united in marriage to Nellie Ann Grovdahl at the Evanger Lutheran Church in Sargeant, MN. After their marriage they moved to the home farm where they farmed and milked cows for many years. Nellie Ann passed away in 2002. Donald loved farming. His livestock seemed to love him as much as he loved them. He also enjoyed going to tractor shows, watching the Minnesota Twins, watching John Wayne movies and watching classic T.V.
Donald is survived by his son Michael of Racine, MN. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Nellie Ann and a brother; Harold.
