Funeral services for Eleanor Parker will be held 10:30 A.M. Tuesday, September 29, 2015 at the Faith United Methodist Church in Spring Valley, MN with Pastor Dave Lieder officiating. Burial will take place in the Spring Valley Cemetery. Visitation will be held 5:00-7:00 P.M. Monday, September 28, 2015 at the Hindt Funeral Home in Spring Valley, MN and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church.
Eleanor Parker, age 91, of Spring Valley, MN passed away Saturday, September 26, 2015 at the Spring Valley Senior Living.
Eleanor Iantha Snapp was born May 4, 1924 to Raymond and Avis (Blackwood) Snapp in Belleville, KS. She was the valedictorian of her high school class. On June 24, 1945, Eleanor was united in marriage to Charles Parker in Belleville, KS. Eleanor enjoyed cooking, camping, traveling, and was an avid golfer, getting a hole-in-one. She made outfits for many family members for Christmas. Eleanor was a kind and generous person, and she always knew how to make people feel welcomed.
Eleanor is survived by her children, Dr. James “Jim” Parker and wife Kay Nelson of Spring Valley, MN and Sue (Dale) Wilder of Muscatine, IA; grandchildren, Christopher (Jessica) Parker of Rochester, MN, Sarah (Justin) Janzen of Savannah, GA, David (Katie) Parker of Inver Grove Heights, MN, Kelli (Michael) Schmit of Madison, WI, and W. Alexander Nelson of St Louis Park, MN; great grandchildren, Claire Lynette Parker, Will James Parker, Evan John Parker, and Broderick James Parker; sister, Marjorie Thomas of Idaho; sister-in-law, Joyce (Darwin) Bohler; brothers-in-law, Don (Audrey) Parker and Leonard (Eula Mae) Parker; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Avis, husband, Charles, sister, Helen Parman, and brother, Harvey Snapp.
