Gail Marie Lorenzen

Gail Lorenzen, age 71, of Austin died Wednesday June 13, 2018 at Mayo Clinic Health System in Austin, MN.

Funeral Services for Gail Lorenzen will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday June 18, 2018 at Bear Creek Lutheran Church in Grand Meadow with Pastor Larry Iverson officiating. Burial will be in the Grand Meadow Cemetery. Visitation will be held 2-4 p.m. Sunday June 17, 2018 at the Hindt Funeral Home in Grand Meadow and will continue for 1 hour prior to the service.

Gail Marie Simes was born May 26, 1947 in Austin, MN to Glenn and Evelyn (Alberts) Simes. She attended and graduated from Grand Meadow High School in 1965. On August 13, 1966 she was united in marriage to Dennis Lorenzen at the Grand Meadow Lutheran Church. Gail and Dennis moved to Austin, MN in 1973. She worked for a short time at Mayo Clinic before working at Home Federal Bank for 23 years and then Sterling State Bank. Later Gail worked at Schammel Electric before her retirement in January 2017.

She loved pottery, crocheting, and cross stitch; having made 20 afgans within the last year. Gail enjoyed watching HGTV. She was active in her church as a Sunday school teacher at Grace Lutheran Church; she later became a member at St. Olaf Lutheran Church and was currently a member at Bear Creek Lutheran Church.

Gail is survived by her husband Dennis of Austin, MN, brothers: Jerry (Mildred) Simes of Austin, MN, and Glenn (Linda) Simes of North Port, FL, and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents.
