Gearld "Jerry" Barth

Memorial services for Gearld “Jerry” Barth will be 11:00 A.M. Monday, November 27, 2017, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Spring Valley with Rev Mark VanHouse and Rev Betsy Dartt officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Sunday, November 26, 2017, at the Hindt Funeral Home in Spring Valley and will continue for 1hr prior to the service at the church.

Gearld Joseph Barth, age 83, of Spring Valley died Wednesday, November 22, 2017, at his home in Spring Valley.

He was born May 27, 1934 to Lorenze and Helen (Reynolds) Barth in Preston, MN. On June 26, 1959, he was united in marriage to Pauline Vreeman at Greenleafton Reformed Church.  For many years Jerry worked on power line construction and also farmed. In Later years he owned his own appliance service business in Spring Valley.  He enjoyed watching football, fishing and working with leather making belts and billfolds. He also enjoyed hearing about his grandchildren’s sporting events. He was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church.

Jerry is survived by his wife of 58 years Pauline, 3 sons; Terry (Glen) Barth of Minneapolis, Craig (Amy) Barth of Roanoke, TX, and Brian (Missy) Barth of Byron, 4 grandchildren Trevor, Abbie, Lexi, and Luke, 1 brother; LuVerne (Maggie) Barth of Chatfield, 2 sisters; Patricia Oviatt of Zimmerman, MN and Gayle (Kenny) Leibfried of Spring Valley and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parent, 1 brother Charles and 1 sister Marion Boeke.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to Season’s Hospice or Our Savior’s Lutheran Church.
