Myrtle L. (Ruud) Milburn

Funeral service for Myrtle L. Milburn will be held 11:00 A.M. Friday January 12, 2018 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Ostrander, MN with Rev. Herman Bakker officiating.  Burial will take place in the Bloomfield Cemetery rural Ostrander. Visitation will be held 5-7 P.M. Thursday January 11, 2018 at Trinity Lutheran Church and will continue for 1 hr. prior to the service.

Myrtle Milburn, age 93, of Ostrander, MN died Sunday January 7, 2018 at the Ostrander Care and Rehab.

Myrtle Ladonna Milburn was born October 28, 1924 in Spring Valley, MN to Otto and Ida (Christopherson) Ruud. She enjoyed her early years on a farm near Ostrander with her 8 siblings. On January 31, 1943 she was united in marriage to William “Pern” Milburn in Anoka, MN. Myrtle was a homemaker and did daycare; she also worked as a cook for the elementary school in Ostrander for many years. Myrtle was very proud of her Norwegian Heritage and along with her sister Lila was known as the “Lefse Queens”. She was known for her cooking and pie making. Her grandkids called her “Grandma Cookie Maker” .  She enjoyed music, dancing, and playing cards. Her greatest joy in life was her family. Myrtle was also an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Ostrander for over 60 years.

Myrtle is survived by her children Sharilyn Jensen of Harrisonburg, VA, Steven (Barb) Milburn of Rochester, Scott (Linda) Milburn of St. Charles, MN and grandchildren Jodi Milburn, Rob Milburn, Michele Hayes, Geoff Jensen, Stephanie (Greg) Jesteadt, 11 great-grandchildren and a host of nephews and nieces

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, son-in-law Steve Jensen, siblings Melvin Ruud, Elvina Sterling, Leonora Peterson, Raymond Ruud, Lyla Miland, Leona Oswald, Wilma Rolli, and Rodney Ruud.

The family requests memorials to Trinity Lutheran Church in Ostrander or Ostrander Care and Rehab for the music activity fund.
