Roger L. Mensink, age 83, of Wykoff, MN passed away peacefully on May 20, 2016 at Mayo Clinic Hospial – St Marys Campus from complications of a heart attack.
Roger was born September 26, 1932 to Hubert and Mildred (Nagel) Mensink in York Township Fillmore County, MN. He attended Liberty Country School and graduated from Preston High School in 1950. Roger enlisted in the United States Army and fought in the Korean War being discharged in 1954.
He married Nancy Jean Williams in 1955, she passed away in 1981. He was united in marriage to LeOtis Early in 1983, she passed away in 2014. His longtime friend Betty-Jane Kaun survives.
Roger was a retired farmer and also retired from Tuohy Furniture after working there for many years.
After his retirement Roger opened his own woodworking shop.
He is survived by his children, Al Williams of Wykoff, MN, Pamela (Rick) Sikkink of Chester, IA, Randy (Teri) Mensink of Wykoff, Step sons, Craig Earley of Preston, Kevin (Meredith) Earley of Alliance, NE, 9 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 2 sisters, Murial Halfpap and Linda Davis.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his 1st wife Nancy, 1 son Rory, his 2nd wife LeOtis, daughter-in-law Joanne, brother Lynn and step great grand daughter.
Memorial service will be held 2:00 P.M. Thursday May 26, 2016 at the Stewartville United Methodist Church with Pastor Lance Lorenz officiating. Visitation will be held for 1hr prior to the service at the church. Burial will be held at the Wykoff Cemetery.
In Lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to the family.
