Ruby W. Start

Funeral services for Ruby Start will be held 11:00 A.M. Friday, April 22, 2016 at the First Presbyterian Church in LeRoy, MN with Pastor John Kerr and Pastor Herman Bakker officiating. Burial will take place in the LeRoy Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be held 9:30-11:00 A.M. Friday at the church. Hindt Funeral Home of LeRoy, MN is in charge of arrangements.

Ruby Start, age 101, of Ostrander, MN passed away Sunday, April 17, 2016 at Ostrander Care and Rehab.

Ruby Wilma Eastwold was born November 17, 1914 in LeRoy, MN to Ruben and Matilda (Hatlestad) Eastwold. She was a graduate of the LeRoy High School. On January 9, 1941, Ruby was united in marriage to Lloyd Start Sr. on the family farm in rural LeRoy. Ruby was a secretary for Dr. M.P. Morse in LeRoy for many year and was a homemaker. Throughout the years, she opened her house up to new school teachers when they came to LeRoy. Ruby was very active in the church and was a member of the History Club for many years.

Ruby is survived by her son, Lloyd (Chris) Start Jr. of Grand Meadow, MN; 6 grandchildren, Stephanie Start, Jim (Tressa Ann Eggler) Start, Kari (Jake Hovland) Start, Darren “D.J.” (Tammy) Start, Cory (Billie Tweten) Mulhern, and Mitch (Jenifer) Mulhern, 15 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ruben and Matilda, husband Lloyd Sr., and 1 sister.
