Sondra J Feil

Sondra J. Feil, age 78, of Grand Meadow and formerly of Byron, Litchfield and Dodge Center died Monday May 8, 2017 at her home in Grand Meadow surrounded by her family.

Sondra Jeanne Carlson was born October 2, 1938 in Byron, MN to Melford and Margaret (Boyd) Carlson. She attended and graduated from Byron High School in 1956. On August 13, 1960 she was united in marriage to William Feil Jr, her High School sweet heart, at Bethel Lutheran Church in Rochester, MN. Together they celebrated 56 years of marriage.  In 1971 Sondra and Bill moved to Litchfield, MN where Sondra worked as a secretary for the Litchfield Middle School. She was employed there for 21 years. They later moved back to the Dodge Center area before moving to Grand Meadow.  Sondra and Bill enjoyed spending winters in Lake Havasu, AZ for 17 years where they made many friends. Sondra enjoyed soaking up the suns’ rays, playing cards and crocheting.  Over the years she also enjoyed going camping, having bon fires and spending as much time with her family as she could.

She is survived by her husband William J. Feil Jr. of Grand Meadow, MN, 3 children: Craig W. (Donna) Feil of Brooklyn Park, MN, William J.  (Colleen) Feil III of Woodbury, MN and Brooke J. Sloan of Grand Meadow, MN. 7 grandchildren: Megan, Mikayla, Matthias (C.J.), Courtney, Trevor, Tyler and Allie, and 2 brothers: Larry (Sandra) Carlson of Byron, MN and Craig (Marilyn) Carlson of Omaha, NE. She was preceded in death by her parents and a daughter-in-law Joy Salverda.

A celebration of life will be held 2:30 P.M. Saturday May 13, 2017 at the Hindt Funeral Home in Grand Meadow with pastor Liz Erickson officiating. Visitation will be held from 1:30 P.M. until time of service at the funeral home.
