Thelma L. Maage, age 93, of Le Roy, MN died Friday October 14, 2016 at Wildwood Grove in Le Roy, MN where she had resided for 5 years.
Thelma Lillian Kalland was born September 28,1923 in Strathcona, MN to Nick and Clara (Norgaard) Kalland. She attended and graduated from Adams High School and was united in marriage to Theodore “Ted” Maage in Le Roy on November 23, 1941 and together they farmed in the Le Roy and Ostrander area all their lives. Thelma enjoyed all aspects of farm life especially raising horses and her Dalmatians, taking both to many of the area parades. She also was very active in singing for many funeral services and other occasions in the surrounding areas.
Thelma is survived by 2 sons; U.S. Army Major (Ret) Donald (Gayle) Maage of Fridley, MN and Dr. Richard (Deb) Maage of Hardin, MT, 1 granddaughter Keri (John) Erickson of Minneapolis, MN and 1 great granddaughter Sydney Devito of Phoenix, AZ. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 1995 and 7 brothers.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday October 18, 2016 at the Le Roy Lutheran Church in Le Roy, MN with Rev Herman Bakker officiating. Burial will be in the Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held 1hr prior to the service at the church.
