Funeral services for Bonnie L. McFarlane will be 10:30 A.M. Monday June 12, 2017 at First Presbyterian Church in LeRoy with Rev John Kerr officiating. Visitation will be held 4-6 p.m. Sunday June 11, 2017 at the Hindt Funeral Home in LeRoy and will continue for 1 hr prior to the service at the church on Monday.
Bonnie McFarlane, age 92, of LeRoy, MN died June 4, 2017 at Fairview Care Center in Dodge Center, MN.
Bonnie Lee Orum was born January 8, 1925 in Vernon Springs, IA to Paul and Grace (Powers) Orum. She attended and graduated from Cresco High School. On March 3, 1946 Bonnie was united in marriage to Laurel McFarlane in Riceville IA. They lived in Iowa for 12 years and in Fountain, MN for 23 years. Laurel was a dairy farmer and Bonnie would help where she could on the farm whether it be helping to clean the milk equipment or cooking for the guys. Bonnie was not only a farm wife but a teacher as well. She loved to spend her time reading books and her bible and doing many jigsaw puzzles.
Bonnie is survived by her children: Shelby (Boyd) Winslow of Claremont, MN and Terry (Deborah Lund) McFarlane of San Antonio, TX; 5 grandchildren: Rebecca, Andrea, Matthew, Tucker, and Dustin; 6 great grandchildren: Laurellee Delia, Nyla, Clara, Opal, Ivy, and Martin Sawyer; brothers: Manley (Norma) Orum of Waterloo, IA, Don Orum of CA, Earl (Bev) Orum of CA, Bud (Pat) Orum of Waterloo, IA; and sister Eleanor (Bill) Ortman of Emmetsburg, IA. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Laurel, and 7 siblings.
