Dean A. Knutson

Dean “Knute” Knutson, 62, of Grand Meadow, MN died on Monday, May 22, 2023 at his home.

Dean Alan Knutson was born April 13, 1961 in Rochester, MN to Mervin and Joan (Nelson) Knutson. He graduated from Grand Meadow High School in 1980 and married Anita Olson in 1982. Over the years they had 4 wonderful boys which resulted in 3 beautiful granddaughters. Dean and Anita later divorced. In his earlier days, Dean enjoyed getting a demolition car ready with his sons and taking it to the fairs.  Dean was happy to work on the family farm and held numerous other jobs over the years at places including Libby’s in Rochester, the Hunting Elevator in Grand Meadow, Mayo Clinic in Rochester and the United States Postal Service in Austin and Grand Meadow. He enjoyed being around people, especially his family. He took great pride in attending his granddaughters’ sporting events. Dean loved watching football and cheering on the Kansas City Chiefs. “Go Chiefs!”

Dean is survived by his sons Corey (Stephanie) Knutson, Adam (Danielle) Knutson, Tyler (Jennifer Moebius) Knutson and Blake (Kelsie) Knutson, granddaughters Adalynn “Addy” Knutson, Ava Knutson and Millie Knutson, mother Joan Knutson, sisters Deborah (Randy) Durhman, Donna (Tom) Stejskal, and lots of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father Mervin Knutson.

Funeral services for Dean will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 26, 2023 at Bear Creek Lutheran Church with Pastor Bob Tewes officiating. Burial will take place in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Thursday, May 25th at Bear Creek Lutheran Church and will continue from 1-2 p.m. at the church on Friday.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Grand Meadow Fire Department or Bear Creek Lutheran Church.
