Eric C. Tjepkes

Eric Charles Tjepkes, 54, died on Sunday, March 3, 2019, at Methodist Hospital after a long battle with cancer.

Eric was born June 4, 1964, in Rochester, and grew up there. He graduated from John Marshall High School in 1982. He joined the Navy and served with honors in Panama, Scotland, Key West, Japan, and Hawaii. Eric was in Hawaii when he was discharged and stayed on there for the next 17 years. He worked as an electrician for a civilian contractor in Oahu that catered to the military. He returned home to Minnesota in 2014. In Rochester, he worked for Madonna Towers Retirement Community in the maintenance department. His favorite part of the job was driving elderly residents, mostly ladies, to doctor appointments and grocery shopping. He so enjoyed talking with them and knowing them all. He also was a member of the Stewartville American Legion Post 164.

Eric is survived by his mother, Margaret Tjepkes, and his brother, Keith Tjepkes, both of LeRoy.

A private service with military honors will be held at a later date.
