Frances Kuisle Obituary

Frances Marie Kuisle, 69, of Rochester, passed away on Wednesday morning, April 11, 2018.

The funeral for Frances will be held on Monday, April 16, 2018 at 11:00 am at St. Bridget’s Catholic Church, Simpson, MN with Fr. Marreddy Pothireddy officiating. Catholic rosary service will be held from 10:45-11 am preceding the funeral service.   Visitation will be from 4-7 pm at St. Bridget’s Catholic Church on Sunday, April 15, 2018 and burial will be in the church cemetery.

Frances was the eldest daughter of Laurence and Mary (Roeder) Kuisle and was born on May 31, 1948. She grew up on the family farm, graduated from Stewartville High School in 1966, and resided close to her family and friends in the Rochester area until her death.

She devoted her life to God, family, nursing and raising her only daughter Amanda.  Frances’ greatest pride and joy were her daughter Amanda, her son in-law Michael, and her grandsons Tyler and Rylan Schwab, who always brought a sparkle to her eyes and laughter to her heart.

Throughout her career as a nurse (Methodist Hospital, Rochester State Hospital, Assisi Heights, Olmsted County Public Health, Bethany Samaritan Heights and Golden Living Care Centers), Frances touched the lives of the people she cared for with her smile, gentle hands, and loving heart.  She opened her home and her heart to the elderly through an in-home adult day care she named Kuisle’s Care-A-Lot.  In retirement, Frances continued to serve and help people as a volunteer at Hope Lodge for those families whose lives were touched with cancer.

Frances cherished spending time with her family and friends, supporting them in their activities, and always thinking of others by saving a seat (or six) beside her. She enjoyed gardening with her brother Richard on the family farm, and to the displeasure of their children, it flourished in size and bounty each year.  Frances had many talents and hobbies; such as, bowling, cooking, playing cards, traveling, and sewing quilts for all of her nieces and nephews when they were born.

Frances is survived by her daughter Amanda (Michael) Schwab; grandsons Tyler and Rylan Schwab; mother, Mary (Roeder) Kuisle; siblings, Tom (Linda) Kuisle, Jim (Marlys) Kuisle, Eileen (Gary) Hartog, Bill (Lisa) Kuisle, Sally (Gary) Detlefson, Dennis (Peggy) Kuisle, John (Carol) Kuisle, Mark (Paula) Kuisle, and Catherine (Sara) Kuisle; and her beloved nieces and nephews.

She was proceeded in death by her father, Laurence Kuisle; brother Richard Kuisle; and nephew Patrick Kuisle. May her soul now join theirs and the other angels in heaven.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Schwab Family who will direct funds to an organization in honor of Frances’ memory.

A special thank you to the staff of the Stewartville Care Center and Season’s Hospice and all who brought love, laughter and such sweet care to their beloved “Franny”.
