Georgine Irene Davis

Georgine I. Davis, age 93, of Ostrander, MN died Wednesday August 8, 2018 at Spring Valley Care Center.

Memorial services for Georgine will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday August 13, 2018 at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Spring Valley with Pastor Mark Van House officiating. Burial will be in the Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held 3-5 P.M. Sunday August 12, 2018 at the Hindt Funeral Home in Spring Valley and will continue for 1hr prior to the service at the church.

Georgine Irene Thorson was born May 20, 1925 in Bennington Township, MN to Owen and Alvina (Kohn) Thorson. She attended Prairie Queen Country schools. On February 16, 1946 she was united in marriage to Clifford Davis in Spring Valley, Minnesota.

She was a homemaker and was active as a member of the Ostrander Legion Auxiliary for over 60 years. Georgine enjoyed baking, gardening, canning, and tending to her flowers. She loved playing cards or board games with her grandchildren and always enjoyed working on puzzles in the winter months. Her smile, her wink, and her gentle spirit will be missed by all.

Georgine is survived by her 8 children; Sandra (David) Vreeman of Spring Valley, MN, Sharon (Tom) Benge of Rolfe, IA, Curt (Vickie) Davis of Bernice, OK, Pam (Tom) Bye of Le Roy, MN, Pat Hovde of Le Roy, MN, Brian (Pam) Davis of Spring Valley, MN, Sheila (Tim) Meirick of Kasson, MN and Brad (Brenda) Davis of Ostrander, MN, 25 grandchildren, and 33 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Clifford in 2017, her grandchildren: Nathan Vreeman and Cheryl Davis; sons-in-law Doug Ferguson and Jim Hovde; and two sisters Ione Rendahl and Geraldine Ruud.
