A celebration of life for Karen K. Wendel will be held from 2-4 P.M. on Saturday August 19, 2017 at Laddy’s in Chester, Iowa. A private family interment will take place at Chester Hill Cemetery.
Karen Wendel, age 71, of Chester, Iowa died Monday August 14, 2017 at St Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, MN. She was born January 12, 1946 to George and Kathleen (Armstrong) Johnson in Cresco, Iowa and attended and graduated from Crestwood High School in 1965. On March 2, 1974 she was united in marriage to Michael Wendel at the Chester United Methodist Church and together they made their home in Chester, Iowa. Karen was a homemaker most of her life, she enjoyed collecting antiques, traveling, garage sales and especially enjoyed motor cycling with Mike.
She is survived by a sister Jane (Rick) Ullom of Chester, Iowa and a brother Reed (Leslie) Johnson of Le Roy. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Karen was preceded in death by her parents George and Kathleen and her husband Mike.
