Loren H Lex

Memorial services for Loren H. Lex will be held 1:30 P.M. Thursday May 24, 2018 at Fillmore Free Methodist Church with the Rev Tim Ward officiating.  Visitation will be held 1hr prior to the service on Thursday at the church.  Burial will be in the Fillmore Cemetery at a later date.

Loren Lex, age 77, of Spring Valley, MN died Sunday May 20, 2018 at his home surrounded by family.

He was born August 22, 1940 in Rural Spring Valley to Harry and Francis (Bornfleth) Lex. Loren attended school in Spring Valley graduating from Spring Valley High School in 1959. On January 28, 1963 he was united in marriage to Joan Riddle and together they lived in Rochester for a period of time before moving to Spring Valley in 1994.  Following his graduation Loren started working for Crenlo in Rochester, MN where he worked as a spray painter and supervisor. In later years he also drove coach for Strains Bus Company where he drove for tours and sporting events. He retired from Crenlo after 43 years of employment.  Loren enjoyed golfing belonging to a golf league in Preston, in early years he also enjoyed bowling. Loren also liked wood working and the fact that he could hunt on his own land near Spring Valley.  

He is survived by his wife Joan of Spring Valley, children, Teresa (Ray) Spaulding of Rochester, MN, Loren “Tony” (JiaHua) Lex of Cincinnati, OH and Timothy Lex of Zumbrota, MN, 8 grandchildren; Amanda, Alex, Raymond, Nathan, Ian, LingJee, Aonica and Joan, 1 great-grandson Carson and 5 siblings; Gust (Margaret) Lex of Stewartville, Harriett (Gerald) Truman of LeRoy, Carol (Roger) Riecks of Chester, IA, Laura (Charles) Frank of Spring Valley and Shearam Lex of Spring Valley. He was preceded in death by his Grandparents and his Aunt and Uncle, Loretta and George Tart who raised him, he was also preceded in death by his parents,  a grandson Mitchell and a sister Elner Eggerich.
