Lyla Fern Moger

Funeral services for Lyla F. Moger will be held 1:30 P.M. Saturday, June 16, 2018 at First Lutheran Church of Highland 22423 391st Ave  Lanesboro, MN 55949. Visitation will be held from 10:30 A.M. until time of service on Saturday. Burial will be in the Highland Cemetery.

Lyla Moger, age 92, of Preston, MN died Friday June 08, 2018 at her home where she had resided for the last 4 years. She was born December 29, 1925 near Highland, MN to John and Olga (Flattum) Glenna.

She grew up next to the Highland Church where she attended and was confirmed. She attended school in Lanesboro, MN 

She was united in marriage to James Moger on Feb. 24th, 1941 at First Lutheran Church of Highland and to this union 5 children were born; Lyle, Rockny, Rodney, Marjewel and Rhonda.

After their marriage Lyla and James lived on a farm near Highland before moving to Spring Valley, Dover, Cedar Rapids, IA and Winona. While In Cedar Rapids Lyla worked for Collins Radio. After moving to Winona, MN she was employed by Neko Technologies, Technigraph, Whetstone  Machine and Wincraft where she retired in the early 1990’s.

Lyla truly loved and enjoyed her family and friends and spending time with them. 

She enjoyed crocheting, playing cards , teaching her grandchildren how to play cards, trips to the casinos and road trips anywhere and everywhere. She always had a suitcase packed and ready to go. She was always game for anything. 

Currently she found a passion in making crocheted hats and head bands for the infants at St Jude’s and other local hospitals.  

Lyla is survived by her daughters; Marjewel Salisbury of Winona and Rhonda (Doug Wobig) Merchlewitz of Preston and 8 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, 10 great-great grandchildren and 2 brothers; Jerome (Bernita) Glenna of Lake City, MN and Gilman Glenna of Winona, MN.  And many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, sons Lyle, Rockny and Rodney, 4 grand-children Mark, Marty, Deanna and Dean along with 3 siblings; Viola Himlie, Adeline Bunke and Floyd Glenna.
