Margaret "Marge" Mracek

Margaret A. Mracek, age 89, of Protivin, IA, died Sunday, January 6, 2019, at Accura Healthcare Center in Cresco, IA.

Mass of Christian burial will be 10:30 a.m., Friday, January 11, 2019, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Protivin, IA, with Father Aaron Junge.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.  Visitation will be from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, January 10, 2019 at Hindt-Hudek Funeral Home in Protivin, IA and will continue at the church for one hour prior to the service on Friday.

Marge was born near Calmar, IA on December 4, 1929, the daughter of William and Regina (Shileny) Mashek.  She attended St. Aloysius School in Calmar.  On August 29, 1950, she was united in marriage to Leonard A. Mracek at St. Aloysius Church, Calmar.  Marge and Leonard farmed west of Protivin.  Leonard passed away in 1995, she then moved to Protivin where she resided until 2015, when she entered the nursing home in Cresco. 

Marge was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church Rosary Society, Catholic Daughters, and Domestic Executives.  She enjoyed dancing and old time music, crocheting, collecting Angels, playing cards, baking rollicky, and working at the Mint.

She is survived by two sons, Steve (Elaine) of Florida, Randy (Vickie) of Protivin, IA; two daughters Julie (Ron) Reicks of Lawler, IA, Cindy (Tim) Howland of Protivin, IA; one brother John (Dorothy) Mashek of Calmar, IA; on sister-in-law Gayle Mashek of Fredericksburg, IA; 12 grandchildren Tait Mracek, Derek (Bevin) Mracek, Ericka (Ben) Moudry, Laura (Nick) Heims, Nathan Mracek, Tory (Kristi) Reicks, Angela (Chris) VanDeusen, Jason (Jenny) Reicks, Dustin Reicks, Kirk (Nicole) Reicks, Isaiah (Jenny) Reicks, Alisha (Darin) Reicks-Sturgill; 20 great grandchildren; and her nieces and nephews.

Marge was preceded in death by her parents, husband, infant son Ronald Lee, two brothers Stanley and Robert, and a sister Judy Kuboushek.
