Robert E. Skaran

Funeral services for Robert “Bob” Skaran will be held 11:00 A.M. Monday June 4, 2018 at Bear Creek Lutheran Church, Rural Grand Meadow with Pastor Larry Iverson officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery following the service. Visitation will be held 3-5 P.M. on Sunday at the Hindt Funeral Home in Grand Meadow and will continue for 1 hr prior to the service at the church on Monday.

Robert Skaran, age 87, of Grand Meadow died Thursday May 31, 2018 at Grand Meadow Health Care Center in Grand Meadow. He was born September 30, 1930 in Grand Meadow to Melvin and Marie (Ewert) Skaran and attended and graduated from Grand Meadow High School in 1949. Following graduation Bob entered the United States Army. After his discharge he returned to Grand Meadow and started farming with his dad before purchasing his own farm and farming until his retirement. Following his retirement he enjoyed working for his son at his marina doing boat repairs. Bob also worked for Jacobson Farms in the spring and fall. When Bob wasn’t working he liked to go camping and fishing antiquing and playing cards.

Bob is survived by his son Mark (Shelly) Skaran of Rochester and  son-in-law Terry “Bud” Pries of Racine, MN, 2 grandchildren Travis Pries of Byron and Tyler Pries of Rochester and siblings Roger (Barbara) Skaran of San Jose, CA and Herb (Shelly) Christianson also of CA. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Connie, his daughter Michelle and 1 sister.
