Stephen Kassel

Funeral services for Stephen M. Kassel will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday May 31, 2018 at Grand Meadow Lutheran Church in Grand Meadow with Pastor Larry Iverson officiating. Visitation will be held 4-7 p.m. Wednesday May 30, 2018 at the church and will continue for 1 hour prior to the service on Thursday.

Stephen Michael Kassel age 21, of Grand Meadow died Friday May 25, 2018 near Grand Meadow from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.  Stephen was born July 18, 1996 in Austin, MN to John and Marla (Weness) Kassel. He attended school in Grand Meadow and graduated in 2014.  Stephen was currently employed with Rochester Asphalt. He enjoyed bow-fishing, hunting and anything outside. He also enjoyed driving around with his friends “wasting gas” but his true passion was for dirt bikes obtaining 1st in his class in 2013. His other passion was his son Jackson whom he loved so much!!

Stephen is survived by his infant son Jackson and Jackson's mother Natasha Buckingham, his parents John and Marla Kassel of Grand Meadow, brothers Justin and Ethan both at home, Maternal grandparents Dave and Milda Weness of Adams, MN and Paternal grandparents Tom and Donna Stejskal of Grand Meadow and John Kassel of Austin, MN and great-grandmother Joan Knutson of Grand Meadow. He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents Jack and Norma Kassel, Mervin Knutson and Clifford and Lillie Weness.
