Virginia Hoffman, age 99, of Grand Meadow died Monday September 3, 2018 at Season’s Hospice in Rochester, MN.
Funeral services for Virgina Hoffman will be held 11:00 A.M. Thursday September 6, 2018 at the St. Finbarr Catholic Church with Father Marreddy Pothireddy officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:00 A.M. until the time of the service at the church. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Virginia Spirmont was born April 5, 1919 in Jefferson, IA to Willard and Fern (Marks) Sprimont. On January 24, 1939 she was united in marriage to Leonard Hoffman in Roselle, IA. To this union 6 children were born. Virginia worked as a supervisor in the housekeeping department at St Marys Hospital in Rochester where she retired after 25 years. She loved the outdoors, spending time gardening, watching birds, mowing lawn, fishing and going on picnics with her family. She was a wonderful cook, her family always loved her homemade chicken noodle soup and fudge.
Virginia is survived by her children: Robert (Val) Hoffman of Janesville, Wisconsin, DeAnna (Carlton) Burns of Stewartville, Barbara Hoffman of Janesville, Wisconsin, Pat (Harold) Ostby of Dexter, Bruce (Ellie) Hoffman of Racine, MN, and a daughter in law Marcia Hoffman of Rochester, she is also survived by her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren along with 3 siblings; Duane (Donna) Sprimont of Irving, TX, Kenneth Sprimont of Dayton, IA and Sherry Pierce of Sac City, IA. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 1994, 1 son Ronald, 2 granddaughters, 1grandson, 5 sisters and 2 brothers.
