Yvonne Gail (Nicholson) Albrecht

Memorial services for Yvonne G. Albrecht will be held 2:00 P.M. Wednesday May 1, 2019 at the LeRoy Lutheran Church with Pastor Herman Bakker officiating. Burial will take place at a later date in the Newburg Township Cemetery, Carpenter, IA. Visitation will be held from 5-7 P.M. on Tuesday April 30, 2019 at the Hindt Funeral Home in LeRoy and will continue for 1 hr prior to the service at the church.

Yvonne G. Albrecht, age 82, of Kasson, MN and formerly of LeRoy, MN died Friday April 26, 2019 at the Fairview Care Center in Dodge Center.  Yvonne was born February 26, 1937 in Meltonville, IA to Harold and Ina (Anderson) Nicholson. She attended and graduated from Carpenter High School where she was a member of the girls basketball team.  She was united in marriage to Melvin Albrecht in July of 1956 at Deer Creek Lutheran Church and together are the parents of Kim, Kent, Kandi and Kurt.  Yvonne was the Post Master in LeRoy for 33 years and served as the President of the Post Masters Association (NAPUS) She enjoyed playing Bridge and was a member of the Bridge Club in LeRoy, she loved to read Murder Mysteries while sitting next to the wood burning stove and going to the local café to have coffee with her friends. Yvonne enjoyed following the Triple Crown Horse Races in the spring and enjoyed going to the MN Vikings and the MN Twins games, visiting spring training in Florida several time with her siblings. She loved to travel and was a very good cook, her children especially loved her spaghetti.

She is survived by her husband Melvin of Kasson, MN, children; Kim Albrecht of Carpenter, IA, Kent Albrecht of Dodge Center, MN, Kandi (Michael) Puder of Rochester, MN and Kurt (Lisa) Albrecht of Kasson, MN, 13 grandchildren; Whitney Albrecht of Baltimore, Nicholaus (Charlotte) Albrecht of Dodge Center, MN, Benjamin Albrecht and Samantha Albrecht both of Norfolk, VA, Mitchell Albrecht of Dodge Center, MN, Laura (Eugene) Schoeman of Rochester, MN Emily, Hannah, Timothy and Isaiah Puder all of Virginia Beach, VA, Elizabeth, Rachal and Kyle Albrecht all of Kasson, MN, 6 great-grandchildren; Paiten, Parker, Pennie, Kenton, Evelynn and Scarlett, siblings; Sharon Hintz of carpenter, Nancy Harvey of Smithsgrove, KY and Butch (Andrea) Nicholson of Port St Lucie, FL. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Phyllis.
