Barbara A. (Shaw) Mahon

Barbara Ann (Shaw) Mahon passed away peacefully, at her home on July 30th, 2021 at the age of 76. She was born in Wykoff, MN on March 6th, 1945 to Lawrence and Alice Shaw. She grew up in Grand Meadow, MN where she attended school through 9th grade and later graduated from Stewartville High School.

She married Franklin Reese on January 4th, 1964. They lived in Grand Meadow where they raised their three daughters Julie, Peggy and Vicki and later divorced.

She married William Mahon on August 5th, 1989. They lived in Stewartville, where they were active members of the American Legion Post 164 and Zion Lutheran Church.

She worked at IBM for many years until retiring. She loved crocheting, gardening/flowers, bird watching, listening to Elvis Presley music, but most of all she loved her grandchildren.

Barb is survived by her daughters Julie (Tom) Peck of Grand Meadow, Peggy (Troy) Gilbert of Grand Meadow, and Vicki (Branden) Baugh of Stewartville; stepchildren Bob, Monica and Jeff; her brothers Les (Betty) Shaw of Austin, Lanny (Judy) Shaw of Chatfield, and Lee (Arleen) Shaw of Stewartville and seven grandchildren Bryan Peck, Alexis Peck, Brittni Baugh (Richie Ferdinand), Sydni Baugh, Colten Baugh, Mattison Gilbert and Cael Gilbert as well as several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband William Mahon, her parents Lawrence and Alice Shaw, ex-husband Frank Reese, brother Larry Shaw, stepson Duane Mahon, and twin grandsons Frank and Gary Gilbert.

A time of visitation for family and friends will take place from 5:00-7:00pm Tuesday, August 3rd at Zion Lutheran Church in Stewartville, MN. The service will be held on Wednesday, August 4th at 11:00am also at Zion Lutheran Church in Stewartville, MN.
