Betty Ann (Moe) Kempe

Betty A. Kempe, 86, of LeRoy, MN, died on Sunday, May 8, 2022 at Our House Senior Living & Memory Care in Austin, MN.

Funeral services for Betty will be held Wednesday, May 11, 2022 at 1:00 P.M. at LeRoy Lutheran church in LeRoy, MN with Pastor Herman Bakker officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday May 10, 2022 at the Hindt Funeral Home in LeRoy from 5-7 P.M. and will continue for 1 hr. prior to the service at the church.

Betty Ann Moe was born May 29, 1935 in LeRoy, MN to Carl and Sigrid Moe. She attended and graduated from LeRoy High School in 1953. On June 24, 1956 she was united in marriage to Karl Kempe and to this union two children were born, Gina and David. Together they lived in LeRoy all their life. Betty worked for First State Bank in LeRoy for over 30 years. In Betty’s younger years she enjoyed camping and riding horses. In later years she enjoyed traveling, quilting and enjoying nature. She was a member of LeRoy Lutheran Church and the American Legion Auxiliary.

She is survived by her son David Kempe of LeRoy, MN, son-in-law Wayne Elit of Hanover, MN and many in-laws and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Karl in February of 1984, her daughter Gina on May 8, 2015 and two brothers, Larry and Carl Moe.
