Frebert “Bud” D. Schultz, age 76, of Pepin, WI, passed away at Mayo Clinic Hospital, St. Marys Campus, Rochester, MN, on Monday, September 20, 2021.
A public visitation will be held for Frebert from 11:00-1:00 p.m., on Monday, September 27, 2021, at Hindt-Hudek Funeral Home in Preston, MN. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., with Pastor David Stoeger officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
Frebert was born on August 24, 1945 in Preston, MN, son of Paul and Dorothy (Damewood) Schultz. Frebert graduated from Lanesboro in 1964. On January 2, 1965, he married Karen Kay Allen in Stevensville, MI. Following their marriage, they first resided in Claremont, MN. In 1976, they built their first home in Spring Valley. Frebert later began farming in Zumbrota, MN. In 1987, Frebert began working as a ban saw operator at McNeilus Manufacturing in Dodge Center and settled his family in Kasson, MN where he and Karen resided until retiring in Pepin, WI. Frebert was never idle for very long. He liked to spend his time outdoors fishing, RV camping, and 4-wheeling. He also kept his hands busy building birdhouses and bird feeders. Frebert enjoyed gatherings with family and friends. He never left a plate with food on it and always had room for jello.
He is survived by his 6 children Scott (Cindy) Schultz of Pepin, WI, Jeffery (Kimberly) Schultz of Kenyon, MN, David (Tina) Schultz of Hayfield, MN, Jeremy (Becky) Schultz of West Concord, MN, Rachel (Darren) Durst of West Concord, MN, and Lori Schultz of Kasson, MN; 21 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren; his siblings Judy (Wes) Harding, Lila (Don) Bunke, Paul (Bonnie) Schultz, Roy (Sue) Schultz, and Rita Cryderman; special friend Charleen Kerg of Elmwood, WI; and several nieces and nephews.
Frebert was preceded in death by his parents, wife Karen, sister Evelyn and nephews Kerry and Wade.
