James Bussiere Obituary

Friends and family, we wish to share with love and sadness that James H. Bussiere “Buzz”, aged 70, departed unexpectedly on February 8, 2024, at DePaul Hospital in Saint Louis, Missouri.

He was born in Green Bay, Wisconsin on December 12, 1953, to Harold J. and Dorothy C. (Sheedy) Bussiere. James graduated from Bay Port High School and the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. He was employed as a pipefitter welder at BayShip Builders and Peterson Builders Inc., for Navy ships in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin. James was also employed as a land surveyor for many years in Wisconsin, and owned several Kaleidoscope Record shops. Being an avid Packers and Badgers fan, he enthusiastically attended every game he could with family and friends. He never stopped encouraging Bears fans to become Packers fans.

A lover of life and new experiences, he traveled to Europe, Hawaii, Jamaica, Australia, and New Zealand several times, and his kind heart left a lasting impression on many people. He was a generous soul, who financially supported girls’ soccer in Jamaica for years, Feed the Children, and the Humane Society of the U.S.

James is survived by his sisters, Cathleen E. Gilmet and Eileen M. Charles, and his brother-in-law, Richard “Dick” Pamperin, who Buzz referred to as “brother.” He leaves behind his beloved nephews and nieces Todd (Laurie) Pamperin, Tom (Denise) Pamperin, Tim (Maria) Pamperin, Chris (Shawna) Gilmet, Kelly (Jen) Foreen, Cory (Sara Zinda) Gilmet, and David (fiancée Erin) Charles; nephew Michael’s wife Jenny Charles; and 8 great nieces and 8 great nephews.

The family that preceded James in death, were his beloved sister Patricia A. Pamperin, brother-in-law Kenny Charles, and much-loved nephew, Michael Charles.

It was an honor and privilege for myself, Suzie Hudek, and children, Nate (Destin) Hudek, Matt (Katie) Hudek, Angela (Brocklon) Chatman, and 6 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren, to have James (Poppa Jack) in our lives these past 23 years. His love, kindness, and bravery, were a constant in our lives. As his caregiver, when days were tough, he’d always give a little smile and thank me wholeheartedly. Buzz’s best friends, Doc and Rick, and many other friends and family will always remember him for all the heart he shared with them, as he truly loved all, and if you knew him, you knew it.

A Celebration of Life will be held in Green Bay, Wisconsin with details to be determined.
