Joann J Bloom

 Visitation for Joann will be held on Thursday May 13, 2021 at Hindt Funeral Home in Grand Meadow from 4 – 7 p.m.  Private family services will take place and burial will be in the Grand Meadow Cemetery.

Joann Julia Bloom passed away on May 8, 2021 at Pine Haven Care Center. She was born February 23, 1945 in Gainesville, Texas to Fletcher (Red) and Bernadette Hathaway.  She graduated from Grand Meadow High School in 1963 and soon after married Jim Bloom on June 15, 1963.  Jim and Joann spent their life in Grand Meadow and together raised two sons. She had a busy life raising the Bloom boys while helping Jim run Bloom Trucking and owning Grand Meadow Recreation.  She enjoyed camping and going for drives. Joann truly cherished and enjoyed spending time with her family. In her spare time, Joann always made sure everyone at the racetrack was fed.

Joann is survived by her two sons, JJ (Roxy Degen) and Jerry (Sarah); four grandchildren, Tony (Mary) Bloom, Hannah (Travis) Trefz, Elizabeth Bloom and Mariah Bloom.  She was also blessed with four great-grandchildren; Preslie, Spencer, Fletcher and Emerson.

She is also survived by her mother, Bernadette Hathaway and siblings Dean (Judy) Hathaway, Kathy (Virgil) Moeller, Julie (Rick) Hathaway, Jimmy (Heidi) Hathaway and Holly (Dean) Jax.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Jim and her father, Red Hathaway.
