Johnny Michael Dieter, 66, passed away peacefully in his home on May 29, 2021 in West Plains, Missouri. He was surrounded by his family.
John was born January 31, 1955 to Harold and Clementine Dieter in Brownsville, Texas. He graduated from Alton High School in 1974. John was married to Nancy Ferrie on December 19, 1981. They were married for 29 years. Together they had two children, Michael and Bethany.
John learned his love and skills for carpentry and machine work in California and Oklahoma after graduation. He moved to the Cresco, Iowa area and worked with companies such as R.E.C., McNeilus, and Weiss Builders. John was also a member of the Carpenter's Union for over 15 years.
John moved back to his home area of West Plains, Missouri in 2015. He retired, yet continued his woodworking hobby, and made several improvements to his home and others. John enjoyed fishing, grilling/cooking, any sort of carpentry work, boating, jet skiing, gardening, canning, being outdoors and spending time with family. His love and knowledge will be greatly missed by his friends and loved ones.
John is survived by his brothers, Louis (Betty), and Billy Joe (Terry) Dieter; sisters Juanita Rhine, Judith (John) Harlan, and Mary Jane Raubeson; children Michael (Jerralyn) and Bethany Dieter; and grandchildren Dodge and Asher Dieter.
He is preceded in death by his mother Clemie Dieter and brother Bart Dieter.
A Celebration of Life will be held on July 3, 2021 at 3650 Fog Rd Cresco, IA 52136.
