Katherine Bergan, age 77, of Riceville, IA, passed away at Mitchell County Regional Health Center, Osage, IA.

Katherine Elizabeth Bergan was born on June 23, 1944, to Freddy and Selma (Jaastad) Bergan. She grew up on the family farm in Ridgeway, IA. She enjoyed coloring pretty pictures, finishing word search puzzles and reading books. She was known for her quirky sense of humor and always made those around her laugh. Her favorite food was a meat and cheese sandwich, chicken noodle soup, and never passed up a glass of chocolate milk. She was loved by her friends and caregivers at the Riceville Family Care Center, and will be deeply missed by her loved ones.

Katherine is survived by her brother Bill (Helen) Bergan; nephews Richard (Cathy) Bergan and Michael (Kristi) Bergan; great-nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents and brother David.

A Private Family burial will be held at United Lutheran Cemetery in Ridgeway, Iowa.
