Kathy Jean (Satern) Runde

Kathy Jean Runde passed away in the early hours of November 5th, 2023 at Cedar Court Senior Living in Adams, MN after battling dementia.
Kathy Jean Runde was born Kathy Jean Satern on February 11th, 1947 to Maynard and Wilma Satern and grew up in rural Riceville, IA. She married Leo Runde and had three children. They farmed outside of LeRoy, MN for several years before they later divorced and Kathy moved to Missouri and worked in Jefferson City, MO in the court system where she remained before moving back to LeRoy to be close to her family. She later was a resident of Wildwood Grove in LeRoy.
Kathy was a horse lover and enjoyed riding until recent years. She continued to enjoy caring for her horse Dusty. She was also an avid reader and spent lots of time at the local library picking out her next read. Kathy was always on the go, whether visiting with friends and family, watching the grandkids in all their activities, or out and about around town driving her big, black Ford truck. 
Kathy is survived by her three children, Angie (John) Milewsky of Urbandale, IA and their three sons Justin, Mitchell & Eric; Randy (Miki) Runde of rural LeRoy, MN and their daughter Jordan; Kari (Dayne) Olson of LeRoy, MN and their three children Kaylee, Riley and Tanner; one brother Gary (Loretta) Satern of Mason City, IA; and several nieces and nephews. Kathy was preceded in death by her parents Maynard and Wilma Satern, her sister and brother-in-law Kay and Larry Anderson, and brother and sister-in-law Steve and Betty Satern.
Visitation will be on Thursday, November 9, 2023, at Hindt Funeral Homes in LeRoy, MN from 4-7 p.m.  Burial will be at the Wayne Township Cemetery in rural McIntire, IA.
