Keith M. Steffen

Keith M. Steffen, age 69, of Cresco, IA, died on Tuesday, September 20, 2022, at Aase Hagen Senior Services in Decorah, IA.

Keith Michael Steffen, age 69 was born January 24, 1953, son of William and Marion (Nehl) Steffen in Cresco, Iowa.  He was a graduate from Notre Dame High School.  After high school, Keith enlisted with the United States Air Force, and was primarily based in California.  When he was honorably discharged from the military, Keith remained in California.  He began working at Panattoni Development Construction as a sales and marketing agent.  Keith made California his home for the next 45 years.  He returned to the Cresco area in 2017.  Keith had a passion for photography.  He loved photographing the Buttes outside of Yuba City, CA, creating picture collages, and gifting the collages to family and friends.  Keith also liked old cars, his favorite being the red Ford Mustang Mach 1 that he owned.  He enjoyed golfing and cheering on the Kansas City Chiefs.     

Keith is survived by his daughter Sheryl Reitnauer, his sons Schonn Steffen Ambrose and Keyes Steffen Ambrose, grandchildren Meagan and Michael Reitnauer, mother Marion Steffen, sisters Michelle (Neil) Funke and Julie (Dean) Walsh, and brother Warren (Karen) Steffen, and several nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his father William and brother Lee. 

A Memorial Mass will be held 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 28, 2022, at Notre Dame Catholic Church with Fr. Jacob Rouse officiating.  Burial with military honors will be held at Calvary Cemetery. The rosary will be recited at 9:30 a.m. with visitation starting at 10:00 a.m.
