Lois Joyce (Simpson) Beving went to be with the Lord on June 11, 2021. She was born on June
17, 1931 in St. James, MN to Harold and Clara (Schwingler) Simpson. She graduated from
Maynard High School in May of 1949 and married Raymond "Paul" Beving on February 2,
1950. To this union were born three daughters, Dianne.(Paul) Stevens of Caledonia, MN, Cheryl
(Wolfgang) Griesinger of Colorado Springs, CO and Paula Ruesink of Spring Valley, MN.
Lois grew up active in 4H and took special pride in showing beef cattle and demonstrating bread baking. She met "Paul" through 4H activities. After marriage they moved to Northern
Minnesota, eventually settling in Silver Bay. Lois was a very talented artistic and creative lady.
She led many youth activities in Silver Bay as her girls were growing up. She took great pride in
Her creative endeavors from painting, stained glass art, quilting and was a very talented
Seamstress making all of her girls’ clothing when they were young, which was the envy of their
friends. She loved nature and planned many family camping trips across the entire United
States and later she and Ray travelled the entire nation on bus tours. Lois was also an
Exceptional cook, even Sharing her talents with the school children of Silver Bay. She then
Opened a ceramic studio in her home which she ran for several years. Upon moving to Spring
Valley in 1986, Lois was very active in her church, Faith United Methodist Church, her garden
club and her quilt clubs.
Lois is survived by her three daughters, her grandchildren, Stacey (Corey) Lewis of Coconut
Creek, FL, Nikki (Clint) Phillips of Brownsdale, MN, Adam (Bridget) Stevens of Hermantown,
MN, Ericka (Greg) Miller of Colorado Springs, CO, Andrea Griesinger of Denver, CO, Jeremy
(Nicole) Ruesink of Eagle River, AK and Danielle Vogel of Summerville, SC, a brother, Richard
Simpson of Madelia, MN and a sister, Maxine Ray of the Quad Cites, 11 great grandchildren
and one great-great granddaughter. She is also survived by many beloved nieces and nephews.
Lois was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Raymond "Paul" Beving, her
son-in-law Roger Ruesink, her sister Patricia Schmitke and all of her husband's siblings.
