Margaret Pendergrass

Private family services for Margaret L. Pendergrass will be held Tuesday June 1st, at the Municipal Cemetery in Clear Lake Iowa.

Margaret Pendergrass, age 90, formerly of Grand Meadow, MN died Friday May 28, 2021 at Pine Haven Care Center in Pine Island, MN.

Margaret Lavon Swanson was born January 21, 1931 in Swaledale, Iowa to Edwin and Edith (Maley) Swanson. She moved with her family to Minnesota at the age of 9 and attended country school through the 8th grade. In 1955 she was united in marriage to Allen Pendergrass in Preston, MN. Allen passed away in 1963. Margaret worked as a home health aide and baby sat for her nieces and nephews. She enjoyed knitting, reading, card games, going fishing and playing bingo.

She is survived by 2 sons; Ray and DeVonne Pendergrass of Waco, TX and Paul and Julie Pendergrass of Oronoco, MN. She is also survived by her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great- grandchildren and a sister Mary Ann (Darryl) Johnson of Grand Meadow, MN. Margaret is also survived by her Grand Dog Sophie (A.K.A. Smurphy).   She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers; Duwayne, Merle, Richard and Roger & Dale in infancy and a sister June.
