Marlene Torgerud, 77, of Lanesboro, MN died Saturday, March 7, 2020 at Gundersen Harmony Care Center in Harmony, MN.

Marlene Johnson was born in Lanesboro on January 8, 1943. She graduated from Preston High School in 1961. On May 26, 1962 she married Hilton “Tony” Torgerud. They lived and worked in the Lanesboro area, operating the Skelly Station. Tony died November 8, 1976. Marlene worked at Preston Specialties in Lanesboro for 30 years, retiring in 2008.

Marlene enjoyed her pets, planting flowers, shopping, and visiting with family and friends.

Marlene is survived by many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her mother Hazel Riehl, stepfather Merlin Riehl, husband Tony, infant sister Susan Marie, and grandparents Ben and Caroline Holtet.

A private family graveside service will be held at a later date.
