Mary Stevens

Mary Ellen (Byrd) Stevens, 78 Rochester, Minnesota, formerly of Branson, MO died Monday morning, August 14, 2023, at the Cottagewood Care facility in Rochester, MN. after a long illness. She was born July 17, 1945, in Osage, Iowa. She was the daughter of Carroll Byrd and Hila (Hansen) Byrd. She was a 1963 graduate of Leroy-Ostrander High School, forever a Cardinal. She was united in marriage to Wally Stevens Dec.12, 1980.

Mary was a successful Real Estate agent for many years. She also handled the administrative duties and payroll for Wally’s businesses leading into retirement. Mary and Wally spent many years thereafter traveling and camping with their dogs, Snickers and Cricket.

Mary loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. Mary was a Christian who loved the Lord Jesus Christ and attended several Baptist churches in her lifetime. Mary was a “Quilter”. She did marvelous work. It’s like they were made to keep her family warm and surrounded with love.

Survived by her sons, Randy (Francette) Jacobson, David (Tammy) Jacobson, Greg (Kim) Jacobson, Jim Stevens, Marc (Dina) Stevens. brother, Mark (Julie) Byrd, 7 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Wally Stevens and her sister Sharon (Gary) Johnson.

Visitation will be held from 9:00-10:00am. Saturday, Oct. 21st. 2023, at Bethany Church, 138 East Main St. Leroy, MN 55951. The Funeral and Celebration of life will begin at 10:00am. The Burial and Committal Service will follow at the Leroy Cemetery. Lunch will be served at Bethany Church following the burial. Cremation rites to be accorded.
