Mary Lou (Cole) Wyckoff

Mary Wyckoff, age 77, of Cresco, died on Wednesday, August 16, 2023, at Accura HealthCare of Cresco.

Mary Lou Wyckoff was born on February 22, 1946 in Woodbury County, Iowa.  Mary grew up in Sioux City, IA along with her adopted parents, Walter and Mae (Sedlak) Cole.  On May 31, 1964, Mary graduated from Heelan Catholic High School in Sioux City.  She later met Charles Wyckoff and they were wed in Redding, IA.  She had 2 children, Michelle and Michael.

Mary embarked on an exciting career as a flight attendant for United Airlines, spanning more than 3 decades.  Being a flight attendant allowed her to thoroughly enjoy traveling across the entire United States, creating cherished memories along the way.  Furthermore, she pursued her passion for interior decorating by attending college and later showcased her creativity as a floral arranger at Michael’s.  Mary was also a dedicated college football enthusiast, passionately supporting both the Iowa Hawkeyes and Iowa State Cyclones.  In her spare time, Mary found joy in gardening, crafting, reading, as well her pride in being a longstanding member of the Moose Lodge.

Mary is survived by her children Michelle Peebles of Redding, CA, Michael Knox of Huntington, CA; 2 grandchildren; and siblings Dave Cole (Jackie Weidner), and Steve (Donna) Cole. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband Charles in 1987.

As per Mary’s wishes, there will be no memorial services planned.
