Mary Lou Rathbun, 93, of Rochester, formerly of Spring Valley, MN, died on Monday, September 11, 2023 at Shorewood Senior Living in Rochester, MN.
Mary Lou was born on February 10, 1930 in Mower County, MN to William and Anna (Pantze) Oeltjen. She married Ralph W. Rathbun on January 2, 1949 in Spring Valley, MN. Mary Lou did clerical work for Olmsted County Public Health Services.
Mary Lou is survived by her foster children; Rene Murphy of Overland Park, KS and Camille (Ed) Schrandt of Littleton, CO, 8 grandchildren; sister Darla (Gerald) Reno of Lamar, MO, brothers Don Oeltjen of Missouri, Al (Karen) Oeltjen of Rochester, MN, Mel (Barbara) Oeltjen of Texas, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Ralph, parents and twelve brothers and sisters.
Per Mary Lou’s request, she had her remains cremated and her ashes will be placed alongside her husband, Ralph, at the Spring Valley Cemetery at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 23, 2023.
