Minnie L. Klingenborg

Minnie Lorraine Peters Klingenborg, age 95, of LeRoy, was born on March 22, 1925 at Kesley, IA to Henry and Kate (Buseman) Dohlman.  She got her education in Kesley, IA in Butler County.  She was the oldest daughter in the family with 8 brothers and 4 sisters.  When Minnie was younger, she worked for many families doing housework and other duties that were needed.

On February 25, 1949, she was united in marriage to Herbert Peters of Dike, IA, at The Little Brown Church in Nashua, IA. To this union, 5 children were born, Sheryl, Elaine, Glenda, Larry and Gary.  Minnie was baptized in March 1950.

Minnie and Herb farmed for 20 years before moving to LeRoy, MN in 1970.  She enjoyed helping Herb on the farm and also her garden and flowers, baking cookies, making pickles, and making fruit cakes for her family and friends.  Herbert passed away March 22, 1986. 

On May 21. 1988, she married Billy Klingenborg in LeRoy MN.  He passed away December 12, 1997.

Minnie loved her family with all her heart and her many friends. She loved the good times she had with her brothers and sisters playing 500.

She is survived by her children, Sheryl Peters of Laramie, WY, Elaine (Steve) Klosterman of LeRoy, Glenda (Clarence) Rath of Spring Valley, Larry (Barb) Peters of LeRoy, and Gary Peters of LeRoy, 15 grandchildren, and many great grandchildren, sisters Faye Johnson of Osage, IA, Norma Kling of LeRoy, Judy (Joe) Langlie of LeRoy, sisters-in-law Wanda and Fern Dohlman of LeRoy.  She is also survived by her step-children, her step-grandchildren, and step-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert Peters in 1986, Billy Klingenborg in 1997, one grandson, Tim, and brothers Albert (Deona), Eime (Irene), Hank, LeClair (Caroline), Don, Floyd (JoEtta), Wendel (Sandy), George Dohlman of LeRoy, one sister Rena (Buck) Holzer,

Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 3, 2020 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in LeRoy.  A private family graveside will be held on Friday, September 4, 2020 with Pastor Kerr officiating.
