Orlo D. Link

Orlo D. Link, 90, of Wykoff, MN, died on Saturday, July 17, 2021 at Traditions of Preston in Preston, MN.

Orlo Dean Link was born in Bristol Township, MN on March 6, 1931 to George and Grace (TerMaat) Link. He attended Prairie Queen Rural School and completed the 8th grade. He later received his GED. Orlo was united in marriage to Ruth Schoppers on November 27, 1954 and to this union, 6 children were born. He was enlisted in the United States Air Force from 1953-1954. Orlo farmed from 1954 until his retirement in 2000. He then moved to Wykoff.

Orlo enjoyed camping, fishing, working on tractors, gardening and going to auctions. He also liked to tell a good joke, especially Ole and Lena jokes. He was a member of the Wykoff United Methodist Church.

Orlo is survived by his children Randy (Mary) Link of Rochester, MN, Nancy Link of Zumbrota, MN, Pam Shaw of Spring Valley, MN, Shari (Tom) Henderson of Rochester, MN, and Brenda (Don Fuehrer) Link of Apple Valley, MN, 13 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, a sister Arlene Folkert, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Ruth Link, son John Link, and brothers Alvin Link, Vernon Link, Kenneth “Dutch” Link, and Gordon Link.

Funeral services for Orlo will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, July 22, 2021 at Faith United Methodist Church in Spring Valley with Pastor Mark Woodward officiating. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday, July 21 at Hindt Funeral Home in Spring Valley and will continue from 12-1 p.m. at the church on Thursday. Burial will take place in Wykoff Cemetery.
