Rachel V. (Isaacson) Nagele passed away September 13, 2020 at Grand Meadow Healthcare Center.
Rachel was born December 2, 1916 to Vaughn and Grace (Sibley) Kolbe in Oronoco Township, Olmsted County. She attended the nearby country school through the 8th grade. Later she and her sister, Wanda, took correspondence art courses. Both were talented artists. Rachel painted her last picture in 2015 at the age of 98.
Rachel marries Willis Lubahn in 1941, and together they had one son, Larry. They were later divorced.
Rachel met Albert Isaacson at the Pla-Mor Ballroom in Rochester. They were married March 11, 1951 at Zumbro Lutheran Church. They farmed near Grand Meadow until Albert’s death in 1977. Rachel and Albert had a daughter Carol, son Dale, and son Robert who died in infancy.
In 1985 Rachel married Roy Nagele from LeRoy. Rachel and Roy enjoyed bus trips to many states and also traveled to Hawaii, Alaska, the Caribbean, and England, France, Germany, and Switzerland. Roy died in 2000.
In earlier years Rachel worked for various farm families, Mayo Clinic, and Meadow Manor (now Grand Meadow Healthcare). As a farm wife she was busy gardening, canning, baking, cooking, sewing and raising her family. She was a member of Bear Creek Lutheran Church where she was active in WELCA and also taught Sunday School.
Rachel is survived by her children, Larry (Jeri) Lubahn of Rochester, Carol (Denny) Milburn of Grand Meadow, and Dale (Regina) Isaacson of Rose, OK. Also 6 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren, and sister Marie Hildestad of Rochester.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, sister Wanda (Clarence) Rucker, brother Stanley (Lucille) Kolbe, an infant brother and infant son.
Funeral services for Rachel will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, September 17, 2020 at Bear Creek Lutheran Church with Pastor Larry Iverson officiating. Burial will be held in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday, September 16 at Hindt Funeral Home in Grand Meadow and will continue at the church for one hour prior to the service.
