Robert S. Smith

Robert “Bob” Smith, 61, of Cresco, IA, died on Saturday, December 19, 2020.

Robert Stanley Smith was born in Decorah, IA on November 1, 1959 to Stanley and Dorothy (Rosenbaum) Smith.

Family was always a priority in Bob’s life.  He enjoyed spending time with his mother, Dorothy, often watching old movies and Wheel of Fortune together.  He loved spending time with his grandchildren, and like any grandpa he was always spoiling them.  He had interests in woodworking, antiques, coins, and collectibles.  His face would light up when he found something special.  Bob had a passion for Star Trek; he was a Trekkie through and through.  He loved animals, especially his two cats, Bing Bing and Cricket. 

Bob is survived by his three daughters Angie (Michael Zimmerman) Breitsprecher of North Liberty, IA, Tabby (Suzi) Spalj of Iowa City, IA, and Bre Smith of Decorah, IA, grandchildren Lily and Jacob, Caden and Caylee, mother Dorothy Smith of Cresco, siblings Fred (Denise Macal) Smith of Cresco, Rick Smith of Cresco, Karen (Craig) Wedderspoon of Waukon, IA, Deb Priest of Cresco, sister-in-law Kris Smith, and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father Stanley and brother William “Bill” Smith.  

Private family services will be held at Notre Dame Catholic Church in Cresco with Father Jacob Rouse officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
