Selma Withey Obituary

Selma L. Withey, 81, of Mabel, MN died on Tuesday, June 16, 2020 at Green Lea Manor in Mabel.

Selma L. Hanner was born on June 21, 1938 to Walter and Lilly Mae (Cockerham) Hanner in Freetown, Indiana. She was united in marriage to Percy Withey on September 5, 1956 in Kaneville, IL and they settled on a farm. Together they had one daughter, Cindy. Selma, Percy, and Cindy moved to Tucson, AZ where Percy worked in real estate. They later moved back to Minnesota to a farm in the Spring Valley area. Selma enjoyed music, gardening, and doing needlework.

Selma is survived by her daughter Cindy (Morey) Bandel of LeRoy, MN and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Percy in 2015, and 12 siblings.

A private family burial will be held on Friday, June 19, 2020 at the Minnesota State Veteran’s Cemetery in Preston, MN.
