Stacy B. (Kay) Farlinger

Stacy B. Farlinger, 46, of LeRoy, MN, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, July 28, 2023.

Stacy Beth Kay was born on October 28, 1976, in Fullerton, California to Stephen and Sandy (Giffin) Kay. She excelled at color guard during her high school years and became a coach later on. On August 15, 2003, she was united in marriage to Dave Farlinger in Golden, CO. They relocated back to LeRoy, MN where Stacy wanted to make sure to connect with small town Minnesota and feel part of the community, so she purchased the book, “How to Speak Minnesotan”. It didn’t take long for the community to embrace and accept her and welcome her with open arms.  Stacy and Dave welcomed two sons; Xander and Tyler to fulfill their family. Stacy loved being a mom. She took great pride in watching her boys become the fine young men they are. If it was watching them play football and basketball, performing in the theater and arts and enjoying playing board games, watching movies and building creations out of Lego blocks with them. She also loved to read and travel. Stacy began working in the finance department for McNeilus Truck and Manufacturing in Dodge Center, MN, and worked her way up to Director of Finance. She not only loved her job, but the people she worked with as well. She was a very hard worker and had a passion for what she did. She took pride in being a mentor to her team and wanted to help them grow and succeed.

Stacy was able to find joy in all things in life. She loved living for the moment enjoying the next adventure. If it was traveling, going to a concert, or just taking a road trip to somewhere she had never seen. She could always light up a room with her infectious smile and laughter. Her board game talents were exceptional, so if you enjoyed winning, you would want to be her partner. She had a special place in her heart for her loving sister, Sue, who she loved very much. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Stacy is survived by her loving husband Dave Farlinger and beloved sons Xander (and special friend, Ashlyn Ness) and Tyler Farlinger of LeRoy, parents Stephen and Sandy Kay of Carthage, MO, sister Susan (Scott) Ekblade of Denver, CO, Grandmother Ann Marie “Ginny” Kay of Denver, CO, father-in-loving David Farlinger of LeRoy, brothers-in-loving, Jamie (Julie) and Brad (Melanie) and niece and nephews Ethan, Brianna and Devin.  There are also several paternal family, aunts, uncles and many cousins.

She was preceded in death by her mother-in-loving Kathy Farlinger, her maternal grandparents and paternal grandfather, Stephen Kay, of Denver.

A visitation for Stacy will be held at Hindt Funeral Home in Le Roy, MN from 4-7 p.m. on Thursday, August 3, 2023.
