I am saddened to hear of the "Chief's" passing. I served with Chief Kubik on his last tour on the USS Arkansas. He was a likeable guy with a great sense of humor, and he watched out for his men. I visited Joe and his family at his home in Newport News several times for cookouts and such. The Chief tried to ensure his sailors had some respite from normal Navy life. I remember the Friday after duty cold beer and chicken livers at the hole-in-the wall outside the shipyard! Though I think he had some 'splain to do to Kay afterwards! I regret not being able to stay in touch after he retired from the Navy, but we did talk once in the early 80's when he was adapting to civilian life. My belated condolences to the families of Kay, Kim and Traci. I am thankful our paths crossed during his service to our country. Farewell and following seas... Joe Seagle

I will miss Joseph and his smiles and conversation. I was blessed to be put in his life a few hours a week to help with house hold chores and personal cares. I was told of his passing just a few minutes before I was to arrive at his home Friday morning. I was shocked and sad as Tuesday he was talkative and full of smiles.
My prayers are with his family. He talked of his children and grand children often, with great pride and joy.
I know the Lord's arms were open wide to receive him to his place in heaven.

I am thinking of all of you and sending prayers. I remember Joe being a caring and thoughtful father when Traci and I were growing up. A pleasant and quiet man. He will be missed greatly by his family and all that knew him.

Another family member gone too soon. Our love and prayers are with you always, Joe. May God's arms welcome you into heaven and wrap you in joy, peace and love. And may we all keep your memory alive within our hearts and through our prayers. I will always remember your 'Kubik' laugh. It always brought a smile to my face when I heard it. Roger will miss all your phone conversations with the two of you sharing each others grocery store and sale purchases. :-) You will be greatly missed. Love and prayers - Roger and Lynne
