Doug, Scott and Ken,
I have so many memories of your wonderful mom and all the times our families took turns hosting 4th of July for so many years. Steaks and chicken on the grill, endless fresh corn on the cob--and always an amazing dessert, with an exchange of recipes of course. Remember all the late night hide 'n seek games we had all over our farm yards! Our moms were such great cooks, gardeners, creative crafters, and life long friends. They helped each other through all the stressful times of being dairy farm wives--the phone was their life line! I loved tagging along on their bowling nights and all the bike rides to your place, just for a visit. Your mom was always so kind to my sister and I as we loved to just sit close by and listen to their visiting and laughing. She was always so welcoming, no matter the time of day. I stayed in touch w/her after I left Protivin and she would keep me up to date on the 3 of you. Your mom was so glad to have you in her daily life after your dad passed.
I'd like to think that our moms have bumped into each other by now--they can pick up where they left off and talk for hours again.
My sincere sympathy to each of you~ ~ You chose a beautiful photo.
