I served on the USS Pratt with Tom (Gramps I don't know how he received that moniker)... I was an electrician stationed for watches in the After Engine Room along with Tom... We kept each other amused with some of the antics we did... I'm glad I was able to talk to him about 6 months ago and he told me the news... They (the Machinists Mates, of which Tom was) would come up to my wife's and my apartment after hours and had a blast talking and having a few beers... As they left our place, they would take all the cans and bottles with them... He will be missed...
